Thesis Defense
Rooms Available @ CDS
Room 110 Steele
- is the best room for the examination with faculty for the thesis defense. The room holds 12 people comfortably, or up to 15 with extra chairs. It has a projector built-in and white boards. There will be no interruptions during the examination. From the point of view of the candidate this is the best room in which to hold a thesis defense as it is a private space.
Room 114 Steele
- has seating for 25 people (max according to fire regulations). It is not private and is adjacent to the seated area in the library and a coffee nook which has traffic going in and out all day. It is suitable for small public presentations. It has a projector built-in but no white-boards, just one easel. It is not suitable for the examination with faculty as there is no complete privacy. It can be distracting for nervous candidates during the examination process.
Room 214 Steele
- has seating for 25-30+ with extra chairs. Seating is classroom style but the room is very large. It has a built-in projector and whiteboards. This classroom has a door which can be closed and is very suitable for the public presentation.
